3rd Feb Networking Breakfast - Trish Mears - The Story Behind The Success

About this event

The Story Behind the Success: Trish Mears

An inspiring look at the life, career, and community impact of one of Bundaberg’s most respected women

ABOUT TRISH:

When Trish Mears and her 4 year old son Will drove to Bundaberg on Anzac Day 2001 to manage Sea FM (now Triple M) they didn’t know a single person. Little did Trish know the huge part that the Bundaberg Region would play in their lives; and the part she would play in business and community.

Come along to our February Breakfast and hear about Trish’s journey – from her early life in Brisbane where her parents showed her the importance of “giving back”, through to her university years studying the first Communications degree in Australia, her work in advertising agencies and then finding her niche in radio, rising from copywriter to Creative Director then Promotions Manager on the Sunshine Coast, before accepting the invitation to come to Bundaberg to manage 93.1 Sea FM, then just 5 months old.

Since then Trish has held several roles in media, business, local government and, currently, not-for-profit (someone once told her she’d “had more jobs than a teenager”!!) and has been recognised as the Bundaberg Region Citizen of the Year in 2023, Bundaberg North Citizen of the Year in 2018 and was awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2019 Business Excellence Awards.

Her community involvement is also extensive, with her current roles including Chair of Partners in Chair Together, President of Moore Park Beach Arts Inc and Secretary of Bundaberg Players Incorporated.

Trish will talk about what drives her, surviving the constant juggle, finding balance and being open to opportunities.

There’ll be some “inside goss”, hopefully some laughs, and, in true Trish style, a few tears.
